Home Care Plan Terms

The membership. The Concepts Home Care Plan is a maintenance and discount membership from Concepts Construction (operating under 1001034033 ONTARIO INC.) for one home address. It costs $24.99 per month plus HST, or $249 per year plus HST prepaid, billed through Square. Membership renews automatically until you cancel.

The two checks. Twice per membership year, once in spring and once in the fall before winter, at times that suit you, we check your home's exterior: roof, siding, caulking and sealing, decks and fences, eavestroughs, and grading and drainage at the foundation. The fall check also includes a visual attic insulation and moisture check from accessible attic access points, where safe access exists. After each check you get written notes of anything we found, with no obligation to book the work. A check that is not booked within its season does not carry over.

Touch-ups on the spot. Each check includes up to 30 minutes of minor fixes done while we are there, such as renewing a bead of caulking, tightening a loose railing, or adjusting a sticking door. Basic consumables like caulking are included. Anything bigger is quoted at your member discount first, and nothing extra is done without your approval.

What is not included. Repairs, projects, and materials beyond basic touch-up consumables are not included in the membership price. Anything the checks find is quoted separately, with your member discount applied to labour.

Member discount. Members get 10% off labour on repair and small-project work while the membership is active. Materials are billed at regular pricing, and your price is always confirmed in your free estimate before work starts.

Priority booking and storm priority. Members are scheduled ahead of non-member work, for both projects and repairs. After a major storm, members are called first for emergency repairs and tarping. Storm priority is scheduling priority; it is not a guaranteed response time, and storm work itself is quoted normally with your member discount.

Billing and cancelling. Cancel anytime with a call or a text. There is no cancellation fee. A monthly membership ends at the end of the paid month; a prepaid year cancelled early is refunded for the unused full months.

Price lock. The price you join at is your price for as long as your membership stays active. If the plan price rises for new members, yours stays the same.

Pausing (snowbirds). You may pause your membership for up to 4 months in any 12-month period, for example while wintering away. Billing pauses during the pause, and any checks that would fall in the pause is rescheduled for when you are back. Tell us before the pause starts.

Refer a member. If a new member names you as their referrer when they join, both memberships receive one month free, applied as a billing credit.

Second home. A second home — a cottage, a rental, or a family member's home — may be added to your membership at half price ($12.49 a month or $124.50 a year, plus HST). Each home receives its own checks and full member benefits.

Not insurance, not a warranty. The plan is a maintenance and discount membership. It is not an insurance product and does not pay for repairs or storm damage. Our one-year workmanship warranty on completed work applies separately, as stated on your invoice.

Changes. If these terms change, we will tell you before your next billing date, and you can cancel free of charge. Your membership price does not change while your membership stays active — see Price Lock.
